(6 novembre) 26 octobre 1738 (1) : À la Royal Society :
The translation of a letter from Mons[ieu]r Clairaut in French, dated at Paris, Oct. 2 1738 [cf. 2 octobre 1738 (1)] serving to communicate a mathematical treatise on the figure of the planets, which have a rotation about their axes [C. 18], was read.

Wherein he desires that the same may be translated into English, and published in the Philosophical Transactions.

Thanks were ordered, and the tract was put into the hands of Mr Machin to extract so much as might be proper for reading before the Society (RS, JBC 16, p. 295).
