I shall furnish you with some occasions more trying again, how that method will do. M[onsieu]r Clairaut at Paris, is now about to publish something upon the subject of aberrations and their corrections [C. 57] ; and the Imperial Academy of Petersburg, has proposed as a problem to be solved for the next years price, how far the imperfections of optical instruments, arising from both aberrations may be removed by multiplying the glasses. And I do not see, but you may have as good a claim, to whatever shall come abroad upon these occasions, as to any thing in my paper (UUB, Ms A 9 m).
Klingenstierna gagnera le prix de l'Académie de Saint-Pétersbourg pour 1762 (Klingenstierna 62). Dollond va bientôt disparaître (cf. 30 novembre 1761 (1)).
