31 janvier 1754 (1) : Clairaut à la Royal Society :
Mons[ieu]r de Caumont M. D. and physician in ordinary to His Most Christian Majesty, residing at present on England with His Excellency the duke de Mirepoix
being desirous of the honour of admission into this society, is accordingly recommended by us, on our personal knowledge, as a gentleman worthy of that distinction on account of his skill in natural philosophy in general, as well as in his own profession.
